Planting & Care
Soil and Water: Watermelon prefers light, loamy, fertile, deep, well-draining soil with a pH of 5.5-6.5. Add plenty of organic matter. Water plants amply until setting out, then water more sparingly. Mulch to prevent weed competition.
Planting and Growing: Start seeds indoors 2-3 weeks before the last frost or sow seeds directly after frost. Set out 3-4 transplants per hill, selecting the strongest two when vines are 1'-2' long. Watermelons are large vining plants that can take over an extensive garden space. They can be trellised, but use slings to support the developing fruit.
Harvesting and Storage: Harvest melons when the tendril closest to the stem turns dry and brown and the stem becomes brittle. Eat fresh, freeze flesh in a honey-based syrup, or pickle the rind.

Where I live isn't really noted for growing watermelons. My family said that they tried and hadn't gotten any real melons. I was determined though. These grew great I had three plants. I gave some melons away and even made jam. The flavor was excellent.
Good seed, close to 100% germination. Makes beautiful healthy plants. Planted early march in zone 10, indoor start. Put outside early april. Plants look happy.
We have raised other watermelons and are excited to try this one. Looks like a great personal size!
I ordered these seeds along with others and received them super fast! I planted them and only half the seeds sprouted! I am excited to try the ones that did sprout!
I grew 2 of these plants last year. Both plants did great in their plant growth, although not a lot of fruit. I got 3 in total, from 2 of the plants. They were just amazing tasting, just wish I got more fruit and larger in size as they were about 3-4" in diameter.
